Fees
During normal working hours (i.e. Mon-Fri 9-5) £35 per hour
Evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and specialist work (eg Mental health, legal etc) £40 per hour, or to be negotiated dependant on specific booking.
Minimum 2 hr fee at any time.
Invoices to be paid within 30 days or additional charges will be applied.
Overtime
If an assignment exceeds the allocated booking time, and I am available to stay, an additional fee will be incurred
Cancellations
All cancelled assignments are treated as follows:
Cancelled more than 14 days prior to booking no charge
Cancelled between 8-14 days 50% of fee
Cancelled 7 days or less 100% of fee
Obviously no travel costs will be charged for cancellations
Postponed bookings will be treated in the same manner as cancellations
Travel
A charge of £0.45 per mile will be charged on all bookings, as will any parking costs incurred
If an assignment involves a total of 3 hrs (or more) travel, then I reserve the right to charge travel time. This is worked out by dividing the travel time in half, then charging the hourly rate for
that time (e.g. 4 hrs travel will be charged as 2 hrs = £70)
Co-working
Any assignment lasting more than 2hrs, or of a complex nature, will usually require 2 interpreters.
Timekeeping
If the service user(s) fails to show at an event, I will wait 20-30 mins before leaving. This is applicable to all assignments and the full fee will still be charged.
Changes
If I arrive at a booking and it is substantially different to what I was led to expect, I reserve the right to leave the assignment (according to my Code of Ethics), and still charge full
fee.
Should I be working without a coworker best practise states that interpreters have regular breaks eg minimum of 5 mins every half hour.
Recordings and Broadcasting
No record of an interpreters work shall be made without the interpreter's prior consent, except where such recording is inherent within legal proceedings. Recordings, which are intended for broadcast or publication may incur an additional fee.
Late Payments
We understand and will exercise our statutory right to claim interest and compensation for debt recovery costs under the late payment legislation if we are not paid according to agreed credit terms.
Interest is currently 8 per cent over the current Bank of England base rate and compensation for recovery costs under late payment legislation is currently at £40.00 for an invoice under £1000.00, £70.00 for those under 10,000 and £100.00 for any over £10,000.
